Star-Ledger Features the Shady Rest Golf and Country Club in Scotch Plains

On Friday, February 19th, the Star-Ledger celebrated the former Shady Rest Golf and Country Club’s  significant contribution to African-American history in New Jersey with the article linked here.

The site, now known as the Scotch Hills Country Club, was listed on PNJ’s annual list of the 10 Most Endangered Sites in New Jersey in 2008.

    I just wanted to say that i so honored
    to learn that right under my nose lies such
    enormous history and to know that it is being
    preserved brings me so much pleasure i must visit
