Gov. Corzine apparently favors demolition of Greystone
March 31, 2009
Governor Jon Corzine stated his opinion on the future of Greystone and the historic Kirkbride Building on March 11, 2009 at a Morris County Democratic Meeting. Jason Karr, Morris Plains Council member, asked the Governor what his position was on the Greystone Property. The transcription of the exchange:
Council member Jason Karr: “Can you give us a status on the Greystone Property?”
Governor Corzine: “Greystone, in my view, ought to get taken down and let it be open space.”
Take it down? Demolition hardly a green solution, much less a historic preservation-appropriate solution. A clarification, please?
